Singapore will be 50 years old next year. Many members of the older generation still remember how Singapore used to be a small city ringed by kampongs, with limited resources and opportunities - very far removed from the booming and bustling metropolis we see today.

The "Data in the City" Data Visualisation Challenge invites the public to celebrate SG50 by telling the Singapore Story using data and visualise how we live, work and play in Singapore. It is an excellent opportunity to commemorate the country's amazing progress and celebrate the best that is yet to come.

There is so much to share, so many perspectives. We want everybody to celebrate their own Singapore Story through innovative use of data visualisation. Which story will you choose to tell?

Why You Should Join?

Everyone, regardless of age and experience, has a story to tell. We encourage you to participate in the Challenge, whether or not you have experience in visualising data. All participants will have access to our list of resources and workshops to guide them through the more technical parts of the challenge.

You could win attractive cash prizes. The top prize is $6,000. You could also have the opportunity to exhibit at public spaces, such as the ArtScience Museum, National Museum, Science Centre or the Public Libraries.

So, register today to tell your Singapore Story!
